Marie Charlaine Harris

Marie Charlaine Harris, age 74 of Hutchins, TX passed away peacefully after a short illness. She was born to Charles and Doris Elaine Smith in Wahpeton, North Dakota.

She received her Business and Travel and Tourism degrees from Amarillo College. Her business intellect served her well throughout her working years and beyond. Once retired, she served with the City of Hutchins Planning and Zoning Commission, where she had a passion for working to make her town a thriving place to live.

Marie enjoyed gardening and cooking, and had traveled to many places around the world, often sharing stories of her experiences in far away places. Perhaps most of all, she enjoyed conversation and relished her coffee dates with friends and phone calls with distant dear friends and family, with whom she could spend hours chatting and reminiscing.

She will be remembered for her vibrant smile and passionate (and sometimes fiery) spirit, as well as the little kindnesses she showed to her loved ones and friends.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Doris Elaine Smith, as well as her son, Clayton. She is survived by a son, Clinton Harris (Catherine) and two grandchildren, Alexandria Harris and Ethan Harris.
